The Story

The iced turmeric latte is the warm-weather companion to the beloved golden latte — the ancient Ayurvedic haldi doodh (golden milk) tradition adapted for the modern cafe and served cold. While the hot version gained popularity in Western cafes around 2015–2016, the iced format followed as cafes recognised that wellness-focused drinkers still wanted their anti-inflammatory golden drink in summer.

Curcumin — the compound in turmeric that gives it both its brilliant yellow colour and its anti-inflammatory properties — is fat-soluble, meaning it is best absorbed when consumed with a fat-containing food or drink. Milk (or plant-based alternatives) provides the ideal vehicle for curcumin absorption, making a turmeric latte more than just a fashionable drink.

At Cappadocia, our iced turmeric latte combines premium ground turmeric, warming spices, and black pepper (to enhance curcumin absorption) with cold milk and ice — a vibrant, golden, caffeine-free drink that tastes as beautiful as it looks.
